With Sympathy

Hello again,

Just a quick card today. We all seem to need sympathy cards all too often, unfortunately, and I for one, do not like making them when I really have to. I find it much easier to have a few on hand.

With this in mind and the serene image from Darkroom Door, this card was born. The background I already had made is a Marvy Metallic one. (Yes, I was still checking out that background drawer.....There is lots and lots in there!)

Who remembers Marvy Metallics??? I still have them. They can make the most awesome backgrounds, so if you see some, grab them! I remember hosting an online class many years ago for an online Yahoo Group Stamphappy, and know that there are at least 8/9 different backgrounds you can make using these pens.

The wording is by Amazing Creations. Such a pity Jenny McNulty does not design anymore.

Have a great day!

Marvy Day

Good evening all,

I am totally exhausted from a very hectic couple of days!

Yesterday was a write off coz I had to go into Mackay for the day .

Today was good but tiring too. I had a one on one class today and the lovely lady who came noticed some cards upon my display wall featuring this beautiful technique. She did ask if it was difficult as she is a brand new stamper. Of course I said no (because it really IS one of the easiest forms of creating marvellous looking backgrounds around!) and off we went making lots and lots of samples. I didn't make mine up into a card, but my lady did! I ended up doing some more when she left to use up as many of the almost empty markers I had laying around!

After that I had a call from DD to come and help her move some of her gear into her new abode. I have just come back from that mission and am almost ready to hit the sack! Have a good one!

Here are some of the three dozen pretty backgrounds I now have all using the Marvy Metallic with Glad Wrap (Saran Wrap) technique. Please click on the image so you can see the detail in the backgrounds.

Upsy Daisy

Evening everyone,

Today's card was achieved using nothing but scraps. I have a tonne of cut pieces of card and really should make it a mission to use more and more of them!
The technique used is Marvy Metallics with Glad Wrap (Saran Wrap to the Americans).

I was quite pleased with how it turned out...especially as I don't usually grab for this sort of colouring scheme. What do you think?

I amso lucky...Waiting on my daughter to come and cook me tea. The tradeoff is that she borrows my computer. Hey, I can live with that, no worries!

MM Wine

Good afternoon everyone,

Well, this is the last of my....hic!...wine cards for now!...hic! ROFL!

This one is my least favourite of them all, but I will show it nonetheless. The background, this time, was created with the use of Marvy Metallics. I love making these backgrounds, but this particular image does not do it justice...IMHO...

And no...that isn't a drop of wine on the card, Anita! Tis a raindrop. It still hasn't stopped raining here, but the best place for photos is still the back verandah!

I do love the fact that the elongated rectangles from the Nestabilities range are big enough to create a base card. Yes! Very cool!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this series of cards. I would love to hear what you think!!!

Hello and good afternoon to all, Today, I would like to share with you a card I did some time ago.

I was going through my most extensive stash of made cards and this one made me stop and think...Isn't that just so pretty! I am organising a bundle of cards for my SIL who lives up on the Atherton Tablelands...who can appreciate the time and effort and enjoy the work...but who most definitely NEVER wants to try to do any of it!

I still own and use my Marvy Metallics as they always make such superb backgrounds, such as in this card. If you have never tried them, I fully recommend you do. In no time at all, your background box will be filled with pretties for future use.

Today, I got the all clear from the surgeon in regards to my shoulder. He does not want to see me again...unless something weird happens. I am still in pain but every day is better than the last. I must keep up the exercises to make myself strong and to get rid of the remaining impingements. It is taking mega long coz he removed my distal clavicle altogether as well as repaired and generally mucked around with my rotator cuff.

THE best thing he said...I can never...like...ever...do things like wash walls and clean windows if that means my arm goes past the level of my shoulder...How sad is that?????? see me crying a river??? ROFL!
